Conroy Removals Ltd is one of New Zealand’s oldest removal companies. Established in 1972 by brothers David and Gary Conroy they provide a comprehensive range to moving services. They have six branches in New Zealand and are known for their competitive rates and strong linehaul division. They also specialise in the transportation for items purchased from TradeMe.

Negative:
- “This company is a total scam. They secured my contract thru advertising, malicious manipulation. Once they had control over my consignment, they began asking me for exorbitant amounts of money. From $677 for delivery, and copy of signed documents, they took possession of my shipment. Subsequently, they demanded $4040. When that was paid, they demanded an additional $990. They then told me I had to pay extra as there were penalties. When I asked them to show me documentations for penalties imposed by MPI and Customs etc, they said “never mind, these have now been waived, but btw you owe us a few thousand dollars more in storage as your cargo was held up due to non payment of (non existent) penalties.”It has been3 months since they took possession of my cargo by making false promises to deliver within a few days. I have filed a complaint with DISPUTES TRIBUNAL. The company simply runs a scam.They took pictures of my cargo, and shared sensitive information with other parties. The consignment was left unguarded, open to theft pilferage and destruction. Over 400 pictures reveal the state of condition my shipment is in.It is a ring of unethical, unscrupulous, dishonest movers, with alliances with other similar movers across teh world. Once they take possession your cargo, they threaten, intimidate, blackmail, extort you into paying more and more and more. - “We have used Conroys for house moves many times now but the latest move has resulted in very poor time management ( which we were compensated for)and damage to some of our goods which has never happened in the past. Now we have to pay the excess on furniture that was damaged due to lack of care by Conroys staff. Bit like your car insurance charging you the excess when another party has crashed into your car. Not really fair i think. It seems that the good old days of Derek Purver when 3 staff turned up to load and unload are gone and someone thinks it best to only send 2 staff and the customer helps to unload the truck. - “Terrible service!! The worst Customer Service! no reply to emails then providing a wrong info, completely unprofessional! At the end I had to pick up my parcel by myself from their depot! Was waiting 8 days for the delivery and always heard tomorrow. Had an email confirmation with the delivery date what was false! no email/ a phone call to me advice me about a new date.
